Biography

Amruta is a visual artist specializing in printmaking and painting. She holds a Master of Fine Arts (Graphics) from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh (2011), and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Painting) from Government Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur (2009). Between 2011 and 2013, she worked as a freelance artist at the Graphics Studio, Bharat Bhawan, Bhopal, where she honed her technical precision and experimental approach to printmaking. Amruta has been the recipient of several awards, including the Prafulla Dahanukar Art Foundation City Award (2017), First Prize at the All India Women Contemporary Art Exhibition (2012, Chandigarh), and Second Prize at Aranya (RAD, Kolkata, 2012). Her works have been featured in national exhibitions organized by Lalit Kala Akademi, Bombay Art Society, Dhoomimal Art Gallery, among others, reflecting her growing presence in the contemporary Indian art landscape. Her recent group exhibitions include “V-Chitra” at Amdavad ni Gufa (2024) and “Lines of Insight” with Nexus Art (2023). Earlier shows include “Identities” at Jehangir Art Gallery (2017) and “Art Beyond Boundaries” at Bharat Bhawan (2016). In addition to her exhibitions, she has participated in several national and international printmaking workshops and art camps, including the 2023 National Printmaking Workshop organized by Lalit Kala Akademi. Amruta currently lives and works in Vadodara, where her practice continues to evolve through an ongoing engagement with process, texture, and layered visual narratives.
