Biography
Born in 1966 in Idar, Gujarat, Nabibakhsh Mansoori completed his Diploma in Fine Arts (Drawing and Painting) from Sheth C. N. College of Fine Arts, Ahmedabad in 1990, and a Post Diploma in Fine Arts (Creative Painting) from the Faculty of Fine Arts, M. S. University of Baroda in 1992. He is a distinguished recipient of the Bendre-Husain Scholarship awarded by the Bombay Art Society. Mansoori’s paintings are exuberant and often surreal, characterized by a vivid palette and layered imagery. He views the world through a kaleidoscope of color—distorted, dynamic, and dreamlike. His works invite the viewer to step into a vortex where reality and imagination merge seamlessly, evoking both wonder and introspection. Since 1992, he has held numerous solo exhibitions across India and abroad, including Tiger! Tiger! at Archer Art Gallery, Ahmedabad (2010), and Kalakriti Art Gallery, Hyderabad (2011); Moving Malls of India, Archer Art Gallery, Ahmedabad (2009); and Weaving Dreams, Gallery 27, London (2006). His works have also featured in auctions by Sotheby’s, New York (1998) and London (1999). Mansoori has participated in several group exhibitions across major Indian cities including Ahmedabad, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, as well as internationally in London and Dubai.
