Biography

Born in 1976 in Springfield, Ohio, USA, Joya Mukerjee Logue completed a bachelor’s degree in science from Saint Mary's College. Mukerjee Logue’s practice in oil and watercolour painting draws from her mixed heritage. It is shaped by memories of Indian cultural influences during her upbringing in Ohio, ongoing research into her identity, and regular travels to India. Her work often focuses on women, intimate portraiture, and everyday scenes. Her work has been exhibited at High Line Nine Galleries (2023); Cromwell Place (2023); 21c Museum Hotel Cincinnati (2022); Annex Gallery (2021); and the Contemporary Arts Center (2019).The artist lives and works in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.
